GAMES

Visitors at the Beyond Numbers exhibit will see examples of mathematical applications from different cultures - from the designs of Micronesia, the quilts of Appalachia, the art of Pueblo Indians, the knots of East Africa, and the tilings of the AlHambra of Islamic Spain. Visitors might also see a demonstration of several mathematics games from Africa.

Here are descriptions of mathematical games from four corners of the world. The bibliography includes references to additional useful multicultural materials for inclusion in the mathematics curriculum.
